University-wide survey to gauge student opinions
about campus life and campus services.

Penn State New Kensington, along with the other Penn State campuses, is looking to learn from student opinions in order to improve the college experience. Selected students from the New Kensington campus can participate in a University-wide research survey that is being conducted to gauge student experience with campus life and campus services.

“To ensure that all student points of view are heard, it is important that our randomly selected students complete the survey,” said Lauren Gigler, graduate assistant in the Student Affairs office at the New Kensington campus. “Participation by our students will allow us to take students' perspectives into consideration when planning for the future. We look forward to hearing what they have to say.”

The goal of the survey is to provide information to all campuses and academic colleges that will help with strategic planning and programming. This will be accomplished in part by investigating how different student experiences are associated with academic success. Names and other identifying information will not be associated with responses to the survey.

New Kensington students who were selected to participate received an email last week and will receive a reminder each week until they complete the survey or until the survey closes on March 21. The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete and after participating, campus students will be automatically entered into a drawing for six iPad Airs, nine GoPro cameras or 30 $50 Visa gift cards. Winners will be notified through email by the end of April.

“The campus cares about your experiences,” Gigler said. “I hope that if you received the survey you will take the time to let us hear about them."

Any questions about the survey can be directed to Gigler at leg16@psu.edu or 724-334-6064.
