Modest $75 rise for New Kensington students
Penn State's Board of Trustees on July 11 approved an average tuition increase for 2014-15 of $75 for undergraduate students at Penn State New Kensington, representing the second lowest tuition increase at the campus since 1967.
“The trustees' decision keeps Penn State affordable for students who are fighting to achieve their dreams and transform their lives,” said Kevin Snider, chancellor of the New Kensington campus. “With creative and efficient initiatives, we continue to provide the Alle-Kiski valley with a high-quality Penn State education.”
Students at the western Pennsylvania campuses of Penn State Beaver, DuBois, Fayette, Greater Allegheny and New Kensington, along with Penn State Mont Alto and Wilkes-Barre, will see an increase of 1.2 percent per semester, for resident students.
The University budget sets an aggregate tuition increase of 2.73 percent, which marks the University’s second-lowest percentage increase since 1967, and slightly lower than last year’s aggregate increase of 2.76 percent.
At all campuses, the information technology fee will increase $4 a semester, to $252. Among all campuses, the student activities fee and student facilities fee will most commonly rise by $6 to $93 per semester, and by $4 to $120 per semester, respectively.
