Alle-Kiski Society's 15th annual outing
11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 8, The Links at Spring Church, Apollo
The Alle-Kiski Society's 15th annual Alumni Golf Scramble is set for 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 8, at The Links at Spring Church in Apollo, Pa.
Co-hosted by Penn State New Kensington, the tournament is open to alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff and friends of Penn State. The $110 entry fee includes dinner, refreshments and awards. Various golf packages are available including foursomes, tee sponsorships and "dinner only." Tee sponsorships are available for $100. In the past three years, the tournament has raised $24,000.
Proceeds benefit the society's endowed scholarship that is awarded annually to New Kensington campus students. Joshua Swinehart of Spring Church, Jennifer Phillips of Vandergrift, and Caitlyn Cody of Leechburg were awarded a total of $3,200 for the 2013-14 academic year. Since 1998, the society has awarded $40,000 to 48 campus students.
