Three companies have has signed on as the official sponsors of the Alle-Kiski Society’s 15th annual Alumni Golf Scramble that tees up at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 8, at the Links at Spring Church in Apollo, Pennsylvania.

Industrial Automation and Control, located in the Westmoreland Business and Research Park in Upper Burrell, provides engineering solutions for control system problems and is the “The Pride” tournament sponsor, as well as the “We Are...” lunch and dinner beverage sponsor. Siemans Industry, a global company specializing in electronics and electrical engineering, is “The Nittany” lunch sponsor. CiD Steel Buildings, a division of CiD Associates Inc. a Sarver-based engineered-to-order manufacturing company with the technology and experience to complete turnkey liftable buildings, is the beverage cart sponsor.

In addition to the official sponsors, individuals and businesses are supporting the event with 25 tee sponsorships. A full field of 19 foursomes is expected help raise funds for the society's endowed scholarship that awards scholarships annually to campus students.

In the past four years, the alumni society has donated $41,000 for student upperclassmen scholarships, raising the endowment from $51,000 to $92,000. In addition to fundraising, the Alle-Kiski Society engages in various campus projects throughout the year, interacting with former and current students by sponsoring social events and other networking activities.

During the recently concluded "For the Future" campaign, the University-wide effort that raised $2.1 billion, the society donated a total of $53,000 to the campus. In addition to its scholarship largesse, the alumni organization made a $10,000 gift to campus athletics for equipment for the cardiovascular fitness room. The society, which comprises Penn State graduates from the New Kensington and University Park campuses, also donated $2,000 to sponsor a reception for more than 100 campus students and their families at the annual Academic and Student Achievement Awards ceremony.
